Iasi is the second-largest city in Romania and is located in the Moldavia region of the country. The city has a long and rich history tinged in tragedy in the 20th Century. It is known as Romania’s Culture Capital due to its vibrant and varied cultural life and outstanding architecture. The Ateneul din Iași is a concert hall and cinema founded in 1920, opened with great pomp it had the seal of approval from the royal family.  In 2016 it’s beautiful renovation was completed.
