Kanvinde, Achyut

Achyut Purushottam Kanvinde (1916-2002), Indian architect. Born in Achare, Maharashtra, he studied architecture at the Sir J.J School in Mumbai. He was then by the Indian Government to Harvard, where he studied under Walter Gropius. Fellow students included Paul Rudolph and I.M.Pei.

He returned to India working for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and later opening architectural firm Kanvinde, Rai and Chowdhury

In 1985 he won the IIA Baburao Mhatre Gold Medal
