You’re my rockefeller

Located on a prime patch of central Manhatten, the Rockefeller name brings to mind everything from Eurovision pop songs to shorthand for the absurdly wealthy.
Columbia University leased the land to John D Rockefeller in 1928, the first building on the site was completed in 1933 and the whole complex in 1939, two historically charged years in modern history. What was created was a series of buildings, a concert hall, viewing platform, ice skating rink and underground labyrinth in effect designed by committee, and gathering of NY heavyweights who were not simply thinking of the blocks that the center would be home to, but beyond to how it would link to Grand Central Station and beyond.
Today it is a NYC and historic national landmark.
