Boston City Hall

Mostly disliked and threatened with demolition, described by Mayor Tom Menino as “cold, unfriendly” with the only solution to sell the building and move the City Hall elsewhere. The argument rattled on until finally, in 2018, it was recognised as a building truly worthy of protection. Its most recent upgrading of areas and reimagining of interior space by Michel LeBlanc of Utile has used lighting to great effect as well as imaginative repositioning desks and seating.
