Greyscape celebrates Brutalist, Modernist and Constructivist architecture. We bring you a carefully considered edit of the best examples of those designs from around the world.

Greyscape was born out of a passion for under-appreciated 20th Century design. Originally launched in 2016 as a passion project an Instagram account, our audience grew fast, with thousands sharing a similar interest in game-changing buildings. We now have an unrivalled position as a crowdsourced archive of little and well-known architecture. Greyscape is a destination where everyone can learn, share and interact with the very best in Brutalism, Modernist and Constructivist design.

We stand with all our friends, our family and all the people of Ukraine and its democratically elected government.

Great Britain’s modern past is recreated with die-cut pre-folded models to rebuild. ‘Some of the most intriguing brutalist edifices erected in England and Scotland after WW2, from iconic slabs of Sheffield’s Park Hill and London’s Trellick Tower, to the demolished Birmingham Central Library.’

Opening with a foreword by Barnabas Calder, this book includes short chapters with striking full-page illustrations and texts on each building.

The Onion House Hawaii 1962-3 Elizabeth McCormick

The Onion House Hawaii 1962-3 Elizabeth McCormick von Beck, a relative of the founder of McCormick & Company, commissioned Kendrick Bangs Kellogg to design a family home. When all the local construction teams turned down the project to build this example of organic architecture, Kellogg stepped up and moved to Hawaii to construct it himself with the help of organic artist James Hubbell who amongst other elements created the dazzling 29 stained glass windows.
